JUDO4LLC – Judo for Lifelong Learning Communities supports judo clubs in becoming active centres of lifelong learning and community development. Six partner organisations are working together to show how the values learned in the dojo can support people throughout life.
The project builds on respect, discipline, responsibility, self-control and mutual welfare. Its practical methods will help coaches, volunteers and club members strengthen leadership, co-operation, critical thinking and participation.
A framework for learning through judo
The JUDO4LLC framework connects traditional judo values with the European Key Competences for Lifelong Learning and LifeComp. Twenty clubs in at least six countries, involving around 200 participants, will test and refine the approach.
A European community of practice
An interactive platform will allow clubs, coaches and practitioners to exchange ideas, share good practice and work through common challenges. By bringing lifelong learning into regular club life, JUDO4LLC aims to strengthen both people and communities.
